Meissen Figure of Farm Boy ca.1860 - Meissen, Germany. Porcelain figure of a farm boy, ca. 1860. Modelled standing next to a tree stump gathering a nest of bird's eggs in his hat. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 7 in x width: 3 in x depth: 3 1/4 in. Condition: There are restorations to the forward and right sides of the hat, and to the green leaves along the stump. There are small chips and losses to the applied foliate elements. There are small losses to the delicate, pierced elements of the figure's clothing. Very light wear to the glaze, including a few minute losses. There is a small chip along the footrim that has been painted over with gilt.
