Oldest Volkstedt Style Porcelain Group ca. 1910 - Style of Oldest Volkstedt, Germany. Porcelain figural group, ca. 1910. Depicting a boy playing a flute to a seated shepherdess with a goat. Blue pierced star mark to the underside. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 5 3/4 in x width: 4 1/2 in x depth: 3 1/2 in. Condition: There is a repaired break and signs of restoration to the man's right hand, visible along the wrist when examined under UV light. There is a loss to the woman's left thumb; there are some chips and losses to the floral and foliate elements cascading down the woman's right leg. Light wear to the gilt along the base.
