Hochst Figural Group ca. 1765 - Hochst, Germany. Modelled by Laurentius Russinger after Poussin. Porcelain figural depicting a nanny with two children and a dog, ca. 1765. She in a black shawl, pink dress and blue flowered overdress, one child in pink and yellow crinoline, the other in green flowered dress, on grassy mound base. Provenance: Christie's, London, ”The Nyffeler Collection of German Porcelain, ” June 9, 1986, Lot 2; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 4 3/4 in x width: 4 in x depth: 3 in. Condition: There are chips and losses to the leaves beneath the dog as well as to the ribbons in the grasp of the woman's left hand. There is a small hairline crack along the lower left edge of the tallest figure's dress, as well as a firing flaw along the left ankle. Light wear to the footrim.
