Pr Louis XVI Giltwood Upholstered Settees - Pair of Louis XVI giltwood bergere settees, 19th century. Each with carved frames, continuous and closed scrolling arms along each side, and light pink upholstery decorated with floral motifs. Atop cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. (Each) height: 34 1/2 in x width: 39 in x depth: 22 in. Condition: The settees are both structurally sound and stable. Light separation to the joints. There are some chips along the extreme edges of the gilt wood frames, particularly along the arms and top rail. There are areas of flaking and small losses to the gilt primarily along the arms. There are several areas of shattering to the silk upholstery. Some wear to the feet.
