Pr French Louis XV Wooden Fauteuil Armchairs - Pair of French Louis XV wooden fauteuils or armchairs. Each featuring a shield-shaped back with scrolling open arms, a cream-painted frame with carved floral motifs, striped coral upholstery, and cabriole legs terminating in pointed feet. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. (Each) Height: 34 3/4 in x width: 24 3/4 in x depth: 21 in. Condition: The chairs are structurally sound and stable. There is wear to the upholstery, including small tears along each of the arms. There are fleabite to small-sized chips along the carved floral elements. There are signs of moisture exposure along each of the upholstered seats. To one of the chairs, there is a crack along the top rail. There is a small split in the wood along the back of the lower rail, noticeable upon close inspection. To the other chair, there is a horizontal crack along the back of the top rail, possibly stemming from a split in the wood. Wear commensurate with age and use to the legs and feet, including light scuffs and scratches.
