French Louis XV Provincial Chaise Dining Chair - A French Louis XV provincial dining chair or chaise, 18th-19th century. Featuring carved floral motifs along the pale painted and parcel-gilt frame, light blue and cream striped upholstery, and cabriole legs terminating in pointed feet. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 33 1/2 in x width: 18 in x depth: 17 1/2 in. Condition: The chair is structurally sound and stable. There are tears, losses, and extensive areas of shattering to the silk along the front of the seat and along the backrest. There are small chips and small losses to the pigment along the extreme edges and high points of the wooden frame. Some separation to the joints. Wear to the legs and feet, including scuffs and scratches.
