19th c. Victorian Button Tufted Serpentine Settee - French Victorian carved mahogany settee with light blue, button-tufted upholstery along the serpentine seat and back atop cabriole legs, 19th century. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 36 1/2 in x width: 70 in x depth: 28 in. Condition: The settee is structurally sound and stable. There are no breaks or signs of repair to the wooden frame. To the frame, there are small chips and losses, primarily along high points; additionally, there is a moderate loss along the crest rail. To the upholstery, there are scattered areas of soiling, including several large areas of soiling along the seat cushion. There are large areas of shattering to the silk along seat, arms, back rest, and verso of the settee. Wear to the feet commensurate with age and use, including scuffs, scratches, and a few small chips.
