Modern French Aubusson Style Rug 10'10”x6' - Modern French Aubusson style hand-knotted flatweave rug textile, 20th century. The carpet with central field depicting garlands of floral motifs on a light blue ground. Border by swags of blossoming peonies contained by a solid blue band and a geometric secondary border featuring a light pink field with a subtle, undulating wave or ”rope” pattern. Each corner anchored by a cartouches depicting a stylized fleur-de-lis motif. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Length: 10 ft 10 in x width: 6 ft. Condition: The colors are bold and bright. There are no tears. There are small, scattered areas of soiling, primarily amongst the flower elements and along the border; there is an additional area of light soiling along one of the quadrants. There are a few scattered loose threads. Light wear along the extreme edges.
