Louis XV Kingwood Occasional Marquetry Table - French Louis XV kingwood transitional or occasional table of rounded form, 19th century. Featuring a circular crossbanded top with quatrefoil floral marquetry decoration and three frieze drawers atop cabriole legs terminating in sabots. Provenance: Old Versailles, Inc., New York, January 1, 1974; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 28 1/2 in x diameter: 16 in. Condition: The table wobbles. Separation to the joints throughout. Warping to the wood, making two of the drawers somewhat difficult to open and one of the drawers unable to open. One of the buttons no longer keeps the drawer shut. There is a large split along the center of the surface. There are two large losses to the rim of the table top as well as severa losses to areas of the inlay throughout, particularly along the legs. There are some areas with residual accretions along the legs. The ormolu mounting is beginning to separate from the feet, especially along two feet.
