Pr Edwards & Roberts Sheraton Satinwood Tables - Pair of Edwards & Roberts Sheraton mahogany and satinwood fold-over console or card tables, ca. 1850. Each with a lobed table top surface, polychrome painted foliate and neoclassical motifs, and square tapering legs terminating in spade feet. Each folds open to reveal a green velvet-topped playing surface. Provenance: South Audley Art Galleries Limited, London, 1972; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. (Each, folded) height: 30 in x width: 36 in x depth: 17 3/4 in. Condition: Both tables wobble slightly. Crazing to the polychrome. Separation to the joints throughout. There are narrow splits forming along the extreme edges of both tables. There are some areas of flaking and small losses to the finish along the extreme edges. To the underside of one table there is a loss measuring approximately 1 in x 2 in to the foremost rounded edge. The hinges work well. Light dust gathered along the underside. Oxidization and tarnishing to the metal components. Some wear to the feet.
