Pr Italian Faux Marble Plaster Column Pedestals - Pair of Italian faux marble plaster pedestal plinths of columnar form, 19th-20th century. Each with a stepped, rounded base. Provenance: Christie's, New York, NY, ”The C. Ruxton and Audrey B. Love Collection: Important European Furniture, Antiquities and Asian Works of Art, ” October 20, 2004, Lot 522; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. (Each) Height: 47 1/2 in x diameter: 15 in. Condition: The pedestals are structurally sound. The square tops are not affixed or secured to the pedestals. To each of the square tops, there is separation to the joints; to one of the tops, there is significant separation or a gap between the two pieces along the rounded surface. To the tops, there are scattered small to moderate chips and losses to the wood, primarily along the rim and extreme edges. Wear to the gilt and pigment including losses. Light scratches and areas of uneven toning along the surfaces of the pedestal tops. To each of the pedestals, there are small to large chips and losses along the base and footrim.
