Chinese Qing Blanc de Chine Porcelain Doumu Figure - Chinese blanc de chine porcelain figure in the form of the Taoist deity Doumu, seated atop a lotus throne, Qing dynasty, 19th century. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Height: 10 in x width: 5 1/4 in x depth: 4 in. Condition: There are restorations to five out of the six arms, particularly where the arm attaches to the body. The remaining arm is slightly loose. There are restorations to the top, left elbow and to a few of the petals below the figure. There is a loss to the end of the baton in the figure's bottom, left hand. There are small chips to the foliate elements and along a few of the fingers. There is a loss along the end of one of the foliate elements along the base. There is a linear firing flaw along right knee of the figure that extends along the figure's back, which develops into a crack; a portion of this crack fluoresces under UV light. There are fleabite chips along the crown. There is an ovoid loss along the back of the base. There are linear and rounded firing flaws. There is crazing to the glaze. There are fleabite to small-sized chips along the underside.
