Signed French Miniature Portrait of a Lady - Signed French miniature portrait painting, ca. 19th century. Depicting a young woman with powdered, curled hair wrapped in a delicate, sheer white fichu. Possibly signed ”Catel” along the lower right. In a gilt bronze frame with brocade fabric mat. Provenance: Purchased ca. 1968 in New York; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Sight; diameter: 3 in. Framed; height: 6 1/2 in x width: 5 in x depth: 1/2 in. Condition: No signs of restoration under UV light. It appears that there may be some trimming to the upper edge. Verso not inspected; not inspected out of frame. Framed under glass. Light wear to the frame.
