T. Overton Miniature Portrait of General Cookson - Thomas Overton (British, active 1820-1850). Miniature portrait painting of General George Cookson, ca. 1830. Featuring the traditional British military red coat decorated with gold aiguillettes draped over his right shoulder and a gold medal along his chest. Frame is adorned with a metal insignia of the Royal Army Medical Corps along the upper edge. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Sight; height: 3 1/4 in x width: 2 1/2 in. Framed; height: 6 1/4 in x width: 5 3/4 in x depth: 1/4 in. Condition: There are no restorations when viewed under UV light. There appears to be some small losses to the extreme edges. Slight undulation to the material. Some tarnishing to the metal frame. Verso not inspected. Not inspected out of frame. Framed under glass.
