Stieler's original portrait of Nanette was included in the Gallery of Beauties, commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria; a collection of 38 works featuring the most beautiful women of 19th-century nobility. Provenance: Purchased ca. 1968 in New York; The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. Sight; height: 3 1/4 in x width: 2 in. Framed; height: 4 3/4 in x width: 2 3/4 in x depth: 1/4 in. Condition: No signs of restoration under UV light. There is a crack going down the center of the miniature through the center of the face of the figure. Edges and verso not inspected.
