Pr Auguste Moreau Bronze Putti Vases as Lamps - Auguste Moreau (French, 1834-1917). A pair of patinated bronze vases mounted as lamps. Each decorated with putti and baskets in high relief on a baluster-form base. Signed along the lower edge. Provenance: The Distinguished Collection of Leo & Doris Hodroff. (Each) Height: 36 in x width: 10 1/2 in x diameter: 9 in. Condition: There are no major visible breaks or signs of repair to the vases. There are scattered small losses to the patina along the high points of the head and body to the middle putti figure of one lamp. There are some light scratches throughout. Tarnishing to the metal components. There is a residual paper label along the cap of each lamp. Wear to the wooden bases including large scratches and losses to the paint along one of the bases. The vases have been mounted as lamps; the undersides and interiors of the vases have not been inspected. The wiring has been clipped along each lamp. Dust gathered along the recessed areas.
