Spanish School Madonna Oil Painting - Spanish school oil on canvas painting of the Madonna, the Virgin Mary. She looks contemplatively upwards towards Heaven while clutching her heart. Voluminous billowing robes surround her in an oval vignette. Height: 41 1/4 in x width: 31 1/4 in x depth: 1 in. Condition: There is evidence of inpainting and restoration that fluoresces under UV light throughout. The colors are muted. Scuffs throughout, especially along the center. There is a minute tear along the upper right quadrant, near her head. There is a tear approximately 1.5” long in the upper left quadrant, near her shoulder. Wear along the extreme exposed edges of the canvas. The work is not framed.
