Graded NGC MS 64, this coin is in superior condition with brilliant luster and remarkable detail. Made of Gold 916, the coin weighs 8.4g and has a diameter of 25mm. With an estimated mintage of 80,000 coins, this 1 Guinea from 1798 is a rare find, with only 10 coins graded higher, including some with the highest grades of MS 65 and MS 66. Front: The obverse features the regal portrait of King George III, facing right, crowned with a laurel wreath. Surrounding the portrait is the inscription ”GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA” (George III, by the Grace of God), emphasizing the king’s sovereignty. Back: The reverse depicts the Royal Arms of Great Britain, with a shield that symbolizes the union of the four nations: England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. The inscription ”1 GUINEA” is displayed above the shield, with the year ”1798” beneath.
