Judaica / Zionism - USA, Rabbi Chaim Berlin Yeshiva Token - Brooklyn, New York, 1899 - Extremely rare and early token from Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin, one of the earliest Jewish religious institutions in the United States, located in Brooklyn, New York. Obverse: Inscribed in Hebrew and English: ”Yeshivah U’Marbitzah Torah R. Chaim Berlin” and ”1899 Prospect Pl., Brooklyn, N.Y.” A small central hole was likely made for attachment to a string or keychain. Reverse: Blank. The token was likely produced as a donation or commemorative piece upon the establishment of the yeshiva at this address in 1899, making it one of the earliest known Jewish educational tokens in America.
