Judaica / Zionism - USA, “Yeshiva Etz Chaim” Star of David Medal - 1927 - A rare Star of David-shaped silver medal, suspended from a two-tone blue and beige ribbon, issued in 1927 (Hebrew year 5687) by or for Yeshiva Etz Chaim, one of the earliest and most important Jewish educational institutions in New York. The obverse bears an engraved Hebrew inscription: “ישיבת עץ חיים תרפ”ז” (Yeshivat Etz Chaim, 1927), with the initials “G.R 27” below. The reverse is stamped “STERLING”, confirming it is made of solid sterling silver. Founded in 1886, Yeshiva Etz Chaim was a cornerstone of early Jewish education in America.
