Israel - 100 Pruta 1954 - ”Magnetic” - NGC MS 66 - After the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, the Israeli government sought the Numismatic Association’s help for the design of new currency. Leo Kadman and Hanan Pavel, along with graphic artist Uta Wallisch, submitted designs that were approved by the then-Finance Minister Eliezer Kaplan. Obverse: The obverse of the coin features the words ”100 פרוטה” and the year of issue in Hebrew, surrounded by two stylish olive branches. The placement of the bouquet is notably farther from the edge, distinguishing it from other versions. Reverse: The reverse showcases a palm tree, a national symbol of Israel. The word ”ישראל” is inscribed in both Hebrew and Arabic, a reflection of Israel’s diverse cultural identity.
