Israel - 250 Pruta 1949 - Silver (”H”) - NGC MS 66 - Coin of Proof quality - Extremely Rare - Over the years, hundreds of 250 Pruta silver coins have been examined by us, yet this particular Proof stands apart. Unlike the standard issues, this coin displays a finish resembling that of a Proof strike - mirror-like surfaces, strong contrast, and exceptionally sharp details. Although it was not officially graded as Proof, its appearance unmistakably suggests such quality (the coin was discovered after grading). A truly exceptional opportunity to acquire what is believed to be a unique example, with no other specimen of its kind known to exist in the numismatic community. The Israeli government has asked the Numismatic Association in Israel for design proposals for a new series of currencies. Leo Kadman and Hanan Pavel, along with graphic artist Uta Wallisch, submitted charts, which were approved by then-Finance Minister Eliezer Kaplan. Obverse: The denomination ”250 Pruta” and the date in Hebrew; two stylized olive branches around the rim. Reverse: Three palm branches; ”Israel” in Hebrew and Arabic.
