Israel – 25 Mils 1949 – No Link – Half Link - NGC MS 61 - At the upper part of the coin's obverse, several design links are missing, the result of a rare minting error. This is the highest graded example of the 25 Mils 1949 type, a particularly rare coin that is seldom offered for sale, usually in far lower grades. After the establishment of the state in 1948, and until 1952, the mill (and the pound of Eretz Israel) served as legal tender. The only coin minted in the State of Israel was 25 mils. Front: ”25 mil” with 2 stylish olive branches. Back: Painted and inscribed: ”Israel” and painted a grape cluster. Of this coin, 650,00 units were minted in Jerusalem and Holon in few diffrent types. On September 6, 1950, the currency ceased to be used as legal tender. In 1952, with the transition from the Israeli mil to the Israeli pound, the name of the mill was changed to a Pruta.
