Palestine – Three Early Checks of the Anglo-Palestine Company – Third Series, 1920 – Including a Jewish Colonization Association Check, a Hebron Branch Check, and One Written in Arabic – Very Rare - A historically important trio of Anglo-Palestine Company checks from the third series, dating to 1920 – representing the formative years of Jewish banking in Palestine under the British Mandate. These checks were issued by the bank that would later become Bank Leumi le-Israel, the cornerstone of the modern Israeli financial system. Included in this group: A check issued to the Jewish Colonization Association (J.C.A.) – the philanthropic organization that financed Jewish agricultural settlement in Palestine; a highly significant Zionist financial document. A check from the Hebron branch, illustrating the bank’s expansion beyond Jaffa and Jerusalem into developing Jewish communities. A check written entirely in Arabic, reflecting early financial interactions between Jewish and Arab communities in the region. All three feature original “PAID” handstamps, Palestine E.E.F. fiscal stamps, and handwritten annotations.
