Palestine - Two Early Checks of the Anglo-Palestine Company, Jaffa - 1920s - One Unused and One Signed by Philip Philipson - With Early Revenue Stamps - A fine pair of Anglo-Palestine Company checks issued from the Jaffa branch during the 1920s, showcasing the early banking activity in Mandatory Palestine. Both checks are printed in English, reflecting the official adoption of the language in financial institutions during the British Mandate period. One is a completely unused and unfilled check, beautifully preserved and illustrating the elegant design of the period; the other is signed by Philip Philipson, an active businessman and financier in Jaffa at the time. Both bear early Palestine E.E.F. fiscal stamps and original bank cancellations. A rare and historically significant pair, offering a glimpse into the evolving structure of Jewish banking and commerce in early 20th-century Palestine.
