Germany / Prussia - 1 Ducat 1735, Frederick William I - Gold, Total Weight 3.84 g, 23 mm - Converted into a Pendant - Only a 10% commission + VAT applies to this item A gold 1 Ducat coin struck in Berlin in 1735 during the reign of Frederick William I, King in Prussia. The king ruled from 1713 to 1740 and was known as the ”Soldier King”. The 1735 issue is considered a relatively scarce date. The coin was converted into a pendant by the addition of a suspension loop at the top. The total weight of the item, including the loop, is 3.84 grams. For comparison, the original weight of this 1 Ducat type is approximately 3.44 grams. The obverse features the right-facing armoured portrait of Frederick William I, accompanied by the inscription: FRID WILH D G REX BOR EL BR (Frederick William, by the Grace of God, King in Prussia and Elector of Brandenburg) The reverse features the crowned star of the Order of the Black Eagle, the highest order of chivalry in the Kingdom of Prussia. The inscriptions at the bottom read: EGN (Initials of Ernst Georg Neubauer, mint master in Berlin from 1725 to 1749) 1735 (Year of issue)
