Great Britain - 25 Pence (Crown) 1977, Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II - .925 Silver, Weight 28.28 g (Approximately 26.16 g of Pure Silver, Approximately 0.841 Ounces) - Proof - A British commemorative coin issued in 1977 to mark the 25th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is commonly known as the Silver Jubilee Crown and has a face value of 25 pence, although the denomination is not explicitly stated on the coin. The coin was struck in Proof quality from .925 sterling silver. Both sides were designed by Arnold Machin. The obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II on horseback, accompanied by the inscription: ELIZABETH II D G REG FD 1977 (Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen and Defender of the Faith, 1977) The reverse depicts the Ampulla and Anointing Spoon used in the British coronation ceremony, beneath a Royal Crown and surrounded by a floral border. There is no inscription on this side.
