A lot comprising three 2020 commemorative coins issued by the Republic of Chad as part of the Climate Zones series, dedicated to the polar region and its wildlife. The lot contains two coins featuring a penguin and one featuring a leopard seal. The coins incorporate colored details and a grey-toned outer ring. Obverse: The coat of arms of Chad, surrounded by the French inscription “RÉPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD.” The year 2020 appears beside the emblem, with the denomination “5000 FRANCS CFA” below. Reverse - Penguin: A penguin standing in a frozen landscape, accompanied by the latitude marking 60°-90°. A colored ring surrounds the design, with the inscriptions “POLARE ZONE” and “999 FINE GOLD” below. Two examples of this design are included. Reverse - Leopard Seal: A leopard seal depicted in motion within a polar marine setting. The design is surrounded by a colored ring, with the inscriptions “POLARE ZONE” and “999 FINE GOLD.” Each coin is struck in Gold 999, weighs 1/200oz - approximately 0.1555g - and measures 40mm in diameter. The combined weight of the three coins is approximately 0.4665g, with a total pure gold content of approximately 0.466g, or 0.015 oz.
