A lot comprising four 2020 commemorative coins issued by the Republic of Chad as part of the Climate Zones series. The coins are dedicated to the subpolar region and the polar bear, one of the animals most closely associated with the cold northern regions. Obverse: The coat of arms of Chad, surrounded by the French inscription “RÉPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD.” The year 2020 appears beside the emblem, with the denomination “3000 FRANCS CFA” below. Reverse: A polar bear depicted against an icy landscape. The design is surrounded by a turquoise-colored ring, with the inscriptions “SUBPOLARE ZONE” and “999 FINE GOLD” along the border. Each coin is struck in Gold 999, weighs 1/500oz - approximately 0.0622g - and measures 16mm in diameter. The combined weight of the four coins is approximately 0.249g, with a total pure gold content of approximately 0.2485g, or 0.008 oz. Maximum mintage: 50,000 coins. The coins are housed in capsules mounted within rigid display holders. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity listing the technical specifications.
