Each coin has a denomination of 5,000 CFA Francs and is struck in .999 fine gold, weighing 1/200 oz - approximately 0.1555g of pure gold - with a diameter of 40 mm. The complete collection contains 0.025 oz of pure gold, approximately 0.778g. The five coins are presented as editions bearing the names of the following German cities: Berlin Munich Stuttgart Karlsruhe Hamburg Obverse: The coat of arms of the Republic of Chad, comprising a shield supported by a lion and a goat, together with the inscription RÉPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD 2021. The denomination 5,000 FRANCS CFA appears below. Reverse: A seal depicted in profile against a stylized polar landscape. The design is surrounded by a magenta-coloured ring and bears the inscriptions POLARE ZONE (“Polar Zone”) and 999 FINE GOLD. According to the accompanying certificates, four of the editions had stated limitations of 2,000 pieces each, while one additional edition bears a stated limitation of 50,000 pieces. The coins are housed in capsules and rigid display holders and presented in an original Planet Erde Goldmünzen case, accompanied by five certificates of authenticity containing technical information in German. The case, holders and certificates show signs of storage and handling.
