Entitled Die D-Mark-Banknoten in reinstem Gold - “The Deutsche Mark Banknotes in Pure Gold” - the collection features colour-enhanced miniature reproductions of banknotes from the final Deutsche Mark series. The collection contains eight large rectangular bars, each made of .999 fine gold, weighing 1/100 oz - approximately 0.31g - and measuring 70×35 mm. It also includes a miniature commemorative bar designed after the 100 Deutsche Mark banknote, made of .999 fine gold and weighing 1/500 oz - approximately 0.031g. The denominations represented in the collection are: 5 Deutsche Mark: The obverse features writer Bettina von Arnim, while the reverse depicts the Brandenburg Gate. 10 Deutsche Mark: The obverse features mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, while the reverse depicts a scientific measuring instrument. 20 Deutsche Mark: The obverse features poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff, while the reverse depicts a quill and book. 50 Deutsche Mark: The obverse features Baroque architect Balthasar Neumann, while the reverse depicts buildings and an architectural plan. 100 Deutsche Mark: The obverse features pianist and composer Clara Schumann, while the reverse depicts a grand piano and a historic building. 200 Deutsche Mark: The obverse features physician and researcher Paul Ehrlich, while the reverse incorporates scientific and medical motifs. 500 Deutsche Mark: The obverse features artist and naturalist Maria Sibylla Merian, while the reverse depicts a butterfly and plants. 1,000 Deutsche Mark: The obverse features portraits of the Brothers Grimm, while the reverse depicts a historic building and literary motifs. 100 Deutsche Mark Commemorative Bar: An additional miniature version of the 100 Deutsche Mark banknote, displayed at the top of the album beneath the inscription GOLD-GEDENKAUSGABE. Obverse: Colour-enhanced miniature reproductions of the fronts of German Deutsche Mark banknotes, including the denomination, the name of the German central bank and portraits of prominent cultural, scientific and historical figures. Reverse: Reproductions of the reverse designs, featuring buildings, measuring instruments, scientific symbols, works and motifs associated with the person portrayed on the front. The collection contains approximately 2.55g of pure gold in total, equivalent to approximately 0.082 oz. The bars are housed in transparent capsules and presented in an original folding MDM album, accompanied by certificates of authenticity for part of the collection. The certificates state .999 fine gold, proof finish, colour enhancement, dimensions of 70×35 mm and a weight of 0.31g for each large-format bar. The album was originally personalized and bears the name Achmed Jungnick. The album, capsules and certificates show signs of storage and handling.
