The coins depict personalities, landmarks and events associated with Cold War-era Germany and German reunification. Each coin has a denomination of 3,000 CFA Francs, is struck in .999 fine gold and weighs 1/500 oz - approximately 0.0622g of pure gold. The 11 coins contain a total of 0.022 oz - approximately 0.684g of pure gold. The coins measure 16 or 18 mm in diameter, depending on the design. Subjects visible in the collection include John F. Kennedy, Walter Ulbricht, Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Günter Schabowski, Helmut Schmidt, the Brandenburg Gate, the fall of the Berlin Wall and additional German historical figures, landmarks and events. Obverse: The coat of arms of the Republic of Chad, the inscription REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD, the year of issue and the denomination 3000 FRANCS CFA. According to the accompanying certificates, the coins were issued in limited quantities varying by design.
