Great Britain - 2 Pounds 2017 - Britannia - .999 Silver, plated/colourized, 31.1g pure silver (1 oz), 38.6 mm - A Great Britain 2 Pounds coin from the Britannia series, struck in .999 fine silver with a weight of 1 troy ounce. The coin has an aftermarket decorative colourized / gilt finish, with a colourful Britannia design on the reverse and a gold-toned obverse. Obverse: Right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The surrounding inscription reads ELIZABETH II D.G. REG. F.D. 2 POUNDS, meaning Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God Queen, Defender of the Faith, 2 Pounds. The initials J.C below the portrait refer to designer Jody Clark. Reverse: Standing figure of Britannia wearing a helmet, holding a trident and olive branch, with a shield bearing the Union Jack. The background is colourized in a style reminiscent of Van Gogh. The surrounding inscription reads BRITANNIA 2017 1 oz 999 FINE SILVER. A decorative artist-style signature appears at the lower part of the design.
