Israel - 10 Lirot 1970 ”Mikveh Israel” - Double Strike Mint Error - Silver 900, 26g (23.4g pure silver, 0.75 oz), 37 mm - UNC - Rare - Israel Independence Day coin issued for the 22nd anniversary of the State of Israel, 1970. Rare double strike mint error, clearly visible in the design details and inscriptions. An exceptional UNC example with strong numismatic appeal for collectors of mint errors and Israeli coinage. The Alliance Israélite Universelle (Kol Israel Haverim) was founded in Paris in 1860 as the first international Jewish organization dedicated to combating antisemitism and social discrimination. Alongside its diplomatic efforts, the organization established an extensive educational network throughout the Middle East and North Africa. In 1870, through the initiative of Karl Netter, the agricultural school Mikveh Israel was founded as the first agricultural school in the Land of Israel, aiming to train a new generation of Jews in agricultural labor and productive settlement. Obverse: At the top appears the denomination ”10 Israeli Lirot”. Below is the main building of Mikveh Israel together with the centennial dates ”1870-1970”. Along the rim appears the word ”Israel” in Hebrew, Arabic and Latin letters. A stylized wheat stalk appears on the left side. Reverse: At the top appears the inscription ”One Hundred Years of Mikveh Israel”. Beneath it is a stylized plow extending across the field. Along the rim appears the inscription ”Kol Israel Haverim”.
