Israel - Lot of 3 ”Diamonds - Israel's Sparkling Export” Medals, 1974, Tombac Bronze - A lot of three official Israeli commemorative medals from the ”Diamonds - Israel's Sparkling Export” series, issued in 1974 to commemorate Israel's diamond industry and its position as one of the world's leading diamond trading and polishing centers. The medals were issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in recognition of the industry's contribution to Israel's economy. The Israeli diamond industry began its rapid development in the late 1930s with the arrival of European diamond cutters and traders, later centering around the Diamond Exchange in Ramat Gan. Obverse: The Diamond Exchange building in Ramat Gan against a geometric diamond-shaped background. A small imitation diamond is mounted above the building. Around the rim appears the bilingual inscription: ”Diamonds - Israel's Sparkling Export, 1974”. Reverse: The seven-branched menorah integrated with interlocking industrial gears, symbolizing industry, manufacturing, export, and Israel's role in the international diamond trade.
