The series comprises 50 ingots, each depicting a monarch or a significant event in the history of the British monarchy. The ingot commemorates Henry V, King of England from 1413 to 1422, and the Battle of Agincourt, fought in France on St. Crispin’s Day, 25 October 1415, during the Hundred Years’ War. Despite being outnumbered, the English army achieved a decisive victory over the French. English archers and the effective use of the longbow played a central role in the victory, together with the muddy battlefield conditions that hindered the French knights. Obverse: A portrait of King Henry V in armour appears within an oval frame. Beside it is a scene from the Battle of Agincourt, with English archers releasing volleys of arrows towards French cavalry and soldiers.
