Egypt - Lot of 7 Sultan Hussein Kamel Silver Coins, 1916-1917 - 2, 5, 10 and 20 Piastres - .833 Silver, Total Weight 69.08 g (Approximately 57.54 g Net Silver, 1.85 Troy Ounces) - A Lot of seven silver coins issued during the reign of Sultan Hussein Kamel (1914-1917). The group comprises 2, 5, 10, and 20 Piastres struck in 1916-1917 (AH 1335), shortly after the establishment of the Sultanate of Egypt under British protectorate. All coins are struck in .833 silver. The total weight of the group is 69.08 grams, containing approximately 57.54 grams of net silver, equivalent to approximately 1.85 troy ounces. Obverse: The tughra (royal monogram) of Sultan Hussein Kamel appears at the center, with the accession date in the Hijri calendar below, enclosed within a wreath. Reverse: The denomination is shown in Arabic and English with the inscription ”PIASTRES”. The Gregorian date and the Hijri year appear below, surrounded by a wreath. The Lot includes: One 20 Piastres coin. Two 10 Piastres coins. One 5 Piastres coin. Three 2 Piastres coins. All coins were struck in .833 silver for circulation. The condition of the coins is as shown in the photographs. The pieces exhibit circulation wear, toning, surface marks, and signs of use consistent with their age.
