Canada - 5 Dollars 2023 - Colorized Silver Maple Leaf “Howling Wolf” - Halloween Edition - .9999 Silver, 1 Troy Ounce (31.11 g), Mintage of 2,023 Pieces, Accompanied by an Information Sheet - A Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin issued in 2023 by the Royal Canadian Mint and subsequently enhanced with a colorized Halloween design. The coin is struck in .9999 fine silver and weighs one troy ounce - 31.11 grams. It has a face value of 5 Canadian dollars. The colorized side depicts a howling wolf standing on a rock against a night sky, clouds, a full moon and a cemetery. The composition is rendered in shades of blue, black, grey and orange. The coin’s original inscriptions remain visible around the design: CANADA FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR The edition is titled “Howling Wolf” and is identified as the first issue in the Halloween 2023 series. According to the accompanying information sheet, the edition was limited to 2,023 pieces. The other side bears the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Canadian artist Susanna Blunt, and the inscriptions: ELIZABETH II 5 DOLLARS 2023 The dates 1952 and 2022 appear to the left of the portrait, representing the years of the Queen’s reign. Four pearls between the dates symbolize the four effigies of Queen Elizabeth II that appeared on Canadian coinage during her reign.
