Handmade beaded valance Early 1900s - Handmade beaded valance Early 1900s This is a unique and beautiful handmade item, most likely a shelf or window valance. While it is not a Native made piece, it is an early example of beadwork done by ladies of the time. The small clear beads create a floral and leaf pattern. Each beaded area is backed with paper. Fabric appears to be a red wool, and the back is a silk.
