Block Co. in Indianapolis, these ash stands, with their simple strap stainless steel construction & aluminum inserts (which held sand to snuff out the smoking items which were not allowed on the elevator) are an iconic design of the Machine Age Era. ”The building's interior and exterior were redesigned in a modern Art Moderne style by architect Kurt Vonnegut Sr. The renovation introduced a sleek facade, including two story polished black marble and stainless steel entrances.
