Pair of German Lidded Relief Beer Steins - C-19160 Pair of relief-molded German beer steins with hinged pewter lids and thumb lifts, each decorated with traditional Alpine figural scenes and German inscriptions. One example features a wooded landscape with castle ruins and figures in period dress, while the other presents an ornate cartouche framed by florals with the phrases “Bleib froh das Herz” and “Bei Bier und Scherz.” Both bodies are cylindrical with applied branch-form handles and raised detailing against deep cobalt and earth-toned grounds. The pewter lids are domed with incised banding and pointed finials, showing light age-appropriate oxidation. Light surface wear throughout; minor glaze variations and small scuffs consistent with age. Pewter lids show light tarnish; hinges function properly. No major cracks observed. 6.25” H each
