Vintage Cast Iron Bottle Capper by Indestro - C-17478 c. 1930s/1940s; Indestro Manufacturing Co. - Chicago, Illinois Cast iron bottle capper produced by Indestro Manufacturing Co., painted in blue with raised lettering reading ”INDESTRO MFG CO CHICAGO.” Designed with a vertical frame, spring-loaded plunger, and lever handle, this sturdy device was built for sealing bottles in homebrewing, soda bottling, and small-scale kitchen or shop applications. Founded in the 1910s, Indestro was best known for manufacturing hand tools and practical household utility equipment. Their bottle cappers became popular mid-century as home bottling was common before widespread access to mass-packaged beverages.
