Child Figure Holding Bird Statue - C-20951 Polychrome figural statue depicting a young child draped in a flowing red garment and holding a small bird against the torso. The figure stands barefoot beside a naturalistic tree stump support atop an integral rectangular base. Finished in painted tones with gilt hair detailing, the piece reflects the sentimental decorative sculpture styles popular in Continental and religious-inspired interiors during the first half of the 20th century. Scattered paint loss, surface wear, and abrasions throughout, particularly to the red garment as shown. General age-related wear to the base and finish.
