ALIYAH STAMPS. Stamps issued for use on immigration certificates. Exactly how they were used is not yet clear to me ! More research needed. They have a value in the left circle and a Hebrew letter on the right circle. On these the number (value) is shown together with it's Hebrew letter on the opposite side. The central design shows a house flanked by two palm trees inside a Star of David. They were printed in small sheets of 4x4 by the Graphic Works in Tel Aviv. Perforation 11½. The design, which I find very appealing, is from a Passover Story/Prayer Book (Hagaddah) by Joseph Budko published in Vienna and Berlin in 1920-21.
