A Set of Antique Cast Iron Mangle Components by G.W.S. Iron Works Keighley - An assortment of disassembled antique laundry mangle components manufactured by G.W.S. Iron Works in Keighley, West Yorkshire. The primary structure is constructed from cast iron, originally finished in a sage green paint. The side frames feature a relief-cast central medallion depicting a tied wheatsheaf, surrounded by the maker mark and location. Included in the set are two wooden rollers on iron axles with integrated gearing, a large four-spoke cast iron handwheel with a wooden crank handle, a curved top bridge piece, and a multi-leaf tension spring. Further components comprise a perforated gear guard, various small brackets, and a large T-handle tensioning screw. The design and decorative elements indicate production during the late 19th or early 20th century.
