A Trio of English Sterling Silver Cigarette Cases and a Powder Compact, Hallmarked Birmingham and Chester, Early to Mid-20th Century - This lot comprises a trio of English sterling silver personal accessories, including two cigarette cases and one rectangular powder compact. The first item is a rectangular cigarette case with curved corners, featuring an engine-turned linear pattern and a corner cartouche engraved with the monogram JFL. It is hallmarked for Chester, 1911, and bears the maker's mark JB and retailer's mark TPS. The interior contains two original elasticated retainers. The second item is a rectangular powder compact with a fine diamond engine-turned pattern to the exterior. The interior lid is hand-engraved Grosso 4th Nov. 1945. It retains a gilt-washed interior, fabric puff, and mesh screen. Hallmarks are for Birmingham, 1944, with the maker's mark D.BROS for the Daniel Manufacturing Co. The third item is a rectangular cigarette case with engine-turned vertical stripes, engraved with the monogram HEFR on the exterior. The interior is inscribed XMAS 1946 within a scrolled border. It features a gilt finish and original elasticated retainers. Hallmarks are for Birmingham, 1946, also with the D.BROS maker's mark. All items are constructed from solid sterling silver as indicated by the lion passant marks. Total Approx. Weight 308g.
