Victorian Mahogany Writing Table by Robert Strahan and Co. Dublin - A Victorian mahogany writing table manufactured by Robert Strahan and Co. of Dublin. The rectangular top features an inset green leather writing surface with a gilt-tooled border. The frieze contains two drawers, each fitted with two brass ring pulls on circular backplates. The piece is supported by four turned and tapered legs terminating in brass ferrules. An original printed paper label is affixed to the interior of one drawer, reading: Established A.D. 1776. Robert Strahan and Co. Cabinet Makers and Upholsterers, Auctioneers and Undertakers, 24 and 25 Henry Street, and 5 Leinster Street, Dublin. The drawer interiors are constructed from secondary timbers. 106 x 53cm.
