A Collection of Assorted Running Stag Horse Racing Memorabilia including Framed Photographs and Awards - This lot comprises a collection of assorted horse racing memorabilia relating to the Thoroughbred racehorse Running Stag, owned by Richard J. Cohen and trained by Philip Mitchell. The group chronicles the international career of the horse across the United Kingdom, United States, France, and Hong Kong during the late 1990s and early 2000s. The collection includes four framed items. A large winner's circle photograph from the Brooklyn Handicap at Belmont Park, 12th June 1999, is inscribed RICHARD COHEN'S 'RUNNING STAG' Trainer PHILIP MITCHELL Winner of THE BROOKLYN HANDICAP Grade 2 Jockey SHANE SELLERS. A multi-photo collage commemorates the Massachusetts Handicap at Suffolk Downs, 3rd June 2000, with an inset label naming the owner, trainer, and rider. A further framed photograph depicts the owner leading Running Stag after winning The Prix Gontaut-Biron at Deauville on 16th August 1998. A smaller framed candid photograph shows Richard J. Cohen with the horse and trainer. A black leather-bound personal scrapbook bears the name RICHARD J. COHEN in gold-leaf lettering below a graphic of the owner's racing silks. The interior is a record of the horse's career, featuring newspaper clippings from The Racing Post and Daily Racing Form, alongside race programmes and track badges. An item within the scrapbook is a typed letter from Manhattan Bloodstock Agency dated 25th September 1998, presenting an offer to purchase the horse for one million US dollars. The archive includes several awards and trophy bases. A green marble trapezoidal award for The Massachusetts Handicap at Suffolk Downs, dated June 3, 2000, is inscribed with the horse's name. A mahogany-toned wooden base with a brass plaque commemorates a second-place finish in the Hong Kong Cup Group 1 on 12th December 1999. A tiered wooden base for the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket, dated 2nd October 2004, bears a silver-toned plaque, and a similar tiered wooden base is present without a plaque.
