Sefer Menoras Hamoer, Amsterdam 1722. With Rare Copper Engraved Title Page

A rare edition of Sefer Menoras Hamoer, printed in Amsterdam, 1722. Edited and printed by R. Moshe of Frankfurt, who authored the famed "Nefesh Yehudah" commentary on Menoras Hamoer (Amsterdam 1701). In this edition, he added "Ivri Teitch" on each page, to benefit women and children.

This copy is complete with the rare copper engraved title page depicting a large Menorah flanked by Moshe and Aharon, which is lacking in most copies.

Sefer Menoras Hamoer was written by R. Yitzchak Abuhav, and was first printed in Constantinople in 1514. Ever since, it has been extremely popular. It is said to have been favored by the Gaon of Vilna, and that the Chasam Sofer even conducted a private study session together with his daughters, teaching them Menoras Hamoer.

Bound in original (?) binding, spine rebacked.

[2], 2-6, 288 pp.
Page Size: 31cm.
