Chiddushei HaRan on Masechta Bava Metziah – With Novella of R. Akiva Eiger, Dyhernfurth 1822. First Edition.

 A complete copy of Sefer Chiddushei HaRan on Masechta Bava Metziah, published for the first time from manuscript, Dyhernfurth 1822. It was brought to print by R. Zvi Hirsch Mishlank, who was a close confidant of R. Akiva Eiger.

In his introduction, he relates that the work was found in manuscript form. It originally belonged to R. Leib Eiger of Halberstadt, and was then passed down to his son R. Zevil Eiger. Printed with a glowing approbation from R. Akiva Eiger, who writes that R. Zevil lent the manuscript to him for several years. It was then that R. Tzvi Hirsch was visiting R. Akiva Eiger and took note of the precious manuscript.

After obtaining permission from R. Zevil, he took it upon himself to bring it to print. At the end of the work, the printer added several pages of novella which was heard from R. Akiva Eiger, as well as from R. Zevil Eiger and others.

In very good condition. Printed on thick, high-quality paper.
